Lloyd was the protagonist of the original game. After he successfully reunited the worlds, he set out on a mission to collect the remaining Exspheres, so he could prevent them from causing more future victims.
Some rejoice his actions and praise him, yet others have a deep hatred for him and condemn his actions. The Church of Martel named Lloyd as being responsible for the "Bloody Purge" in Palmacosta, which was never confirmed nor denied by Lloyd. Thus, tensions between the factions for and against him have escalated rapidly.
