Once upon a time, the world was divided in two according to the mandate of heaven, but was restored to its former self by the Chosen of Regeneration. In place of the Giant Kharlan Tree that had been destroyed in ancient times, a new World Tree was born.
With the reunited new world came the birth of new chaos. Before the world was restored, the world of Tethe'alla was prosperous, while the world of Sylvarant was in decline. This gap in civilization only brought division among the people as time went on.
Two years after world regeneration, a massive massacre known as the Blood Purge occurred in retaliation to the activities of the Vanguard, a resistance group called the Sylvarant Liberation Front. The town where this tragedy occurred, Palmacosta, was consumed in flames, and many innocent lives were lost. The man who carried out this tragic deed was Lloyd and was sanctioned by the Church of Martel.
Two years after the world's rebirth, in a corner of the now-united world ruled by chaos, the actions of the resistance group called the Sylvarant Liberation Front, The Vanguard, caused a massive retaliation known as The Blood Purge. The town where this tragedy occurred, Palmacosta, was consumed in flames, and many innocent lives were lost. The man who carried out this tragic deed was Lloyd, of the Church of Martel.
The Blood Purge left one boy with an incurable wound on his heart. His name is Emil. Having lost both his parents and his hometown, all he has left is his hatred for Lloyd.
Emil remained alone, opening his heart to no one, until one day, he heard a mysterious howl. Guided by the howl, Emil doesn't realize that this is his first step towards a destiny that will lead him to the ends of the world.

IGN's review for the game is now up, which received a 6.7/10. Not much of a surprise, considering many at IGN don't care that much for "old-school" JRPG's (compared to WRPG's).
If you're a Tales fan, you pretty much already know what to expect from this game. ;)
GameTrailers.com has posted their review for the game as well, which can be found here. It received a 7.9/10. The video is embedded in the Full Story link below.

We have a megadeuce of a post for you guys today (bonus points to those who know the reference ;)).
Gamekyo has interviewed Teruaki Konishi, one of the people working on the game. One of the more important parts of the video is that they aren't shooting down the prospect that they will localize Tales of Hearts, but they're not announcing they will. The video is in the "full story" link at the end of this post.
Next up is 1up.com, which reveals in a new preview that they will be adding new features to the North American localization. To quote the article...
"Loading GameCube clear data from Symphonia randomly unlocks certain items, in-game currency, and other bonuses at the beginning of the game. Second, the North American release increases the available motion-controlled special-move shortcuts to eight, up from four in the Japanese version."
Last is a trailer from Tokyo Game Show 2008. From what I can see, it looks like Namco is doing a proper localization with the game, instead of riding off of the original's cotails and doing a half-assed job. (@a745, I like Emil's VA in this game. *laughs*)

New ToS: DotNW North American Boxart
Gamestop has added a new boxart, which has the 10th Anniversary icon (of which Vesperia also had). This is brand new boxart, akin to the normal edition for Tales of Vesperia.
We will likely have to wait till Namco-Bandai officially confirms the boxart.

 ToS: DotNW North American Boxart
Gamespot has a new hands-on article for the North American release of the game. It recaps what we already knew, but they did like the voice actors, so that's a good sign (especially coming from Gamespot).
We also have a small image of the official boxart for the game. It's the Japanese boxart, with the North American logo. This is a first, since every Tales game has had a different boxart from the Japanese release (although the Special Edition for Vesperia did use the Japanese artwork for the base of it's boxart).

IGN has released a new article featuring Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. This update also revealed the long-running question of whether they would go with a pre-Vesperia approach and give a instrumental intro, or have a English version of misono's single.
It was revealed by a video, which can be viewed in the full story link below, that it is an instrumental version. However, it does fit the animation pretty well, so it's not a big detractor. The interview also praised the voice acting, making note that it was much more professional than the original. They also made mention of the 16:9 widescreen, 480p presentation, which gives a clearer image compared to the original. They did note that the loading times for battles were a tad bit longer (approximately a second and a half) compared to the original, due to loading everything in one go, instead of streaming the load bit. Lastly, they revealed the skits will be voiced, which was still up in the air at the time of the Nintendo Power reveal (they wanted to do it, but it wasn't 100% guaranteed).
IGN says this is the "kickoff" for their coverage of the game, which will include more media, hands-on article, and follow-up chats in their weekly Nintendo Voice Chat Podcast.

GoNintendo has uploaded five English videos of Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.
From what we can see, it seems like they have picked a proper font (replacing the placeholder one used back during the Nintendo Power special).
ArsTechina also has images of playable builds of Tales of Vesperia & Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, although due to the TV's used, the image is bright. You can see the English main menu for DotNW, however. And those "banners" might very well be the designs we see on the boxart. ;)

 V-Jump Scan #2
 V-Jump Scan #3
 V-Jump Scan #4
Jeux-France has uploaded four new V-Jump scans. There is some new monster designs shown, but something of interest is a scripted fight between Emil and Lloyd (ala the Yggdrassil battles in the original game, where you couldn't win unless you powerleveled or had a EXP boost from the GRADE shop).

The official blog for Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World has been updated with a small, but important update.

Lyrics
- Kanji
