As you can see, Symphonic Heaven is a complicated website in terms of the amount of work that goes behind it --- such as the main website, and all of the programs we use in the sub-sections of the website (Forum, Gallery. etc.). Since the birth of the website, this project has been mainly a one-person job, with some people helping out in other areas. We have gained some staff members in the last year, but we still need more for various other sections of the website.
Thus, I have created this section of the website to bring in new staff members. We will "comment out" out any positions that have already been taken (an HTML trick to "remove" the content w/out deleting it). If you are interested, please contact us using the form provided. In the case that we get multiple people interested in the same job, we will look at everyone's credentials to decide the "winner" (we will contact each of you for said info in that case).
Co-Webmaster
This position is essentially one step down from the webmaster. This is a very important job, since this person will be maintaining the website, keeping the flow of content from the staff members coming in and putting it up on the website, and fixing any issues/bugs that occur. I usually only accept people who have been a Staff member for a while, or people I personally know.
Although, if you are skilled at using a CMS (mainly MODx CMS), then I might accept you for the position w/out previous status as a staff member / personal contact. Having some references (sites/scripts you've worked on, etc.) always helps out for this position. ;)
Obviously, this spot is only for one person --- once it's taken, you'll have to wait till the current Co-Webmaster steps down to apply.
Content Writer / Content Coder
These two positions can be interchangeable, depending on how much (X)HTML / CSS knowledge you have.
A Content Writer would focus on creating a text document (preferably .txt) of the data for a particular section. It is suggested to do this in a "GameFAQs" type format, so we can list it in our Guides section (credited to you, obviously).
A Content Coder would take that text and covert it into XHTML (there's a few slight differences between HTML and XHTML, none of which are too bad ;) ), using the custom "tag" system that basically eliminates the need to use full XHTML tags (although you need to know the syntax to know which of the "values" need to be used in the tag).
As you can see, if you are skilled enough and have the time to do both, you can apply for both positions --- obviously, you just need to type out the content instead of converting it (eliminating the need to to a guide, unless you wish to do so). Note that these positions aren't "one per person" for each game. We can have multiple spots, since there is a lot of content that needs to be done for each game.
Media Gatherer
No prior knowledge is required, although knowing some general knowledge of MODx CMS/XHTML/CSS/PHP knowledge is an added bonus, for day-to-day operations. We can teach you the ropes easily if you do not know about the scripts/languages mentioned above.
This would have a couple features to it. The main focus would be to add Videos to the various Tales games, from sites such as IGN, Gamespy, and Gamespot. Sites that allow an "embedded" player option would have that used, and any others (such as videos from Namco's official websites) would be uploaded to YouTube under a specific channel for Symphonic Heaven. You will also be given access to upload said videos to our special FilePlanet server. Adding new videos uses some simple "tags", hence why there is no prior knowledge required to do this job. :D
A side focus for this job would be to find images/etc. that people such as the Gallery Staff didn't notice yet, and pass the word on to them. This isn't a requirement, however (you just can do it if you happen to come across some while finding videos).
mySymphonic Staff
Having knowledge of XHTML is required, and having either PHP or MODx CMS experience is a added bonus, as well MySQL/phpMyAdmin experience while implementing new features into the program (that is what we use for the "backend" of the script).
This would revolve around implementing new features into the program and fixing any bugs/issues that occur. This would also involve furthering the already existent rating/comment features we have on selected content pages.
Blog Staff
Knowledge of MODx CMS & MyBB is required, and XHTML/CSS/PHP knowledge is an added bonus, for day-to-day operations.
Since the script is already online, this requires creating the pages on the forum and website for their user's blog. You will need to archive everyone's blogs each month.
Forum Staff
Knowledge of MyBB is required, and PHP/mySQL knowledge is an added bonus (in case of script errors, etc.) is needed for an Admin account, and Moderator positions are also available, which don't require knowledge of the aforementioned scripts/programming languages.
For Admins, this would involve adding new items/etc. to our Inventory Shop, installing/de-installing plugins, adding/removing forums, etc. For Moderators, this would involve moderating the forum, obviously. :P (this also holds true for Admins). For both jobs, help in devising ideas to spread forum growth is also needed (but not required to gain the position).
Gallery Staff
Since we are using a *much* easier Gallery script (just upload and forget :P), this simply requires uploading content from various sources (like screenshots, or images from Tales Channel) to the Gallery. If you can create folders in Windows, you can do this. ;)
Oekaki Staff
Knowledge of Wacintaki is required, and XHTML/CSS/PHP knowledge is an added bonus, for editing the skin if needed.
This would involve checking/resizing images if they shouldn't be allowed/are too big, and fixing any issues that might come up, as well as removing any spam messages that might come through. Out of all of the positions, this is one of the easier ones. ;)
