This game is located in the world of Eternia, which is made up of two planets bounded by the Seyfert Ring, Inferia and Celestia. In the world of Inferia, there are three people, Reid Hershel, Farah Oersted, and Keele Zeibel, who are joined together by their past experiences.

Reid and Farah live in the Rasheans, a village, while Keele is studying at Mintche Academy. When a Celestian named Meredy crashes near the village, she brings news of a phenomenon called the Grand Fall, which would cause the two planets to collide and obliterate each other. The group must now travel between the two world to save their world.
