Thanks to aquary pointing it out on the Official Tales Forum, it turns out this was a April Fools Prank, done by Tales of Surprise, a Japanese "Tales of" website. It was posted on that site on the 1st, but the original post that "leaked" it was on the 4th, thus no one expected it to be a prank. Thus, said image has been removed from the Gallery.
If you wish to see how they created the fake scan, look here.

At the end of last year, Famitsu leaked out information about an unannounced Tales game, under the Tales of Mobile banner (used for all of Namco-Bandai's Tales-related cellphone games).
They posted two pieces of concept art for the two characters, and two in-game screenshots. From what we can gather, it seems to be a dungeon-hack (think the Pokemon: Mysterious Dungeon series). Once the official name for the game is released, we will add these images to the Gallery.

Thanks to a thread on NeoGAF, we now know that Namco-Bandai has registered three new Tales trademarks in Japan, which are...
- #2007-115292 Tales of the Genesis (video game, toy, streaming contents)
- #2007-115291 Tales of the Nexus (video game, toy, streaming contents)
- #2007-115290 Tales of Hearts (video game, toy, streaming contents)
In the past, Namco has registered three or four names, then picked one to be an actual game. Thus, expect to see one of these names used in a future Tales game (which could already be in early, early development as we speak), although it wouldn't be revealed for quite a while.

After having placeholders up for a few days, the official websites for Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosk, Tales of Innocence, and Tales of Rebirth (PSP) are now up on Tales Channel.
All of them have the two characters "released" so far, a section on the Story, and a Product page. Innocence's page also has the trailer released earlier this week.
This update shows off more of Innocence's 3D game engine, as well as the new battle system. Ratatosk's page shows off what seems to be concept artwork in the Story section (seems too hi-res to be in-game), but also shows us some in-game screenshots that were not released at Namco-Bandai's press event earlier this week.
Either click the Tales Channel link below, or go to their respective sections in our console list and click the link.
BTW, I have saved all of the images, so expect them on the Gallery soon, along with the other remaining images. I hope to finish uploading them once the mySH upgrade is finished.

This update is a dual-update for both the Director's Cut of Tales of Destiny and the PSP port of Tales of Rebirth.
This scan isn't as revealing as the other scans in the latest issue of Famitsu, but it has some new things. We finally get the first look at the special case that it will come in when you buy the game. Obviously, it has Leon on the "cover" of the box, since this game will include some extras focused on himself. The boxart seems to be different from the initial release of the game --- it seems to be using the artwork that was featured on the "splash" page for the game on Tales Channel and the right side of the scan. Two other book-type things are included, which might be stuff such as drama books or art books.
The Tales of Rebirth part of the scan basically shows off some new widescreen screenshots from the game. It appears that the graphics were spruced up, similar to what they did with the PSP port of Tales of Destiny 2, but we cannot confirm this as of yet.
The scan is attached to this post.

Remember the Tales of Symphonia sequel that we reported a little while ago? Well, it has been confirmed, along with three other Tales games.
The PSP is getting another port, this time being Tales of Rebirth. As of right now, it seems to be getting the normal widescreen format the other PSP Tales ports have received, as well as a Gallery. likely akin to Tales of Destiny 2's PSP port. It currently has a 2008 ETA release date.
Tales of Destiny (PS2) is getting a "Director's Cut" remake of the game, which will include more sub-character events, new difficulty modes, dungeon "hints" (not clear on what this means), and most importantly for the direhard Leon fans, a new mode devoted just to him, which should delve on more of his backstory. This isn't that much of a surprise to people who know a lot about the game, since hackers using Action Replays discovered some text for Leon that appeared at areas he should have never usually been playable at --- this might have been scraped due to time-constraints in developing the title. This currently has a 2008 ETA release date. Thanks to IGN, we also know that the save data from the "original" game will be compatible with this title, so those who own the first game will not have to replay it over again.
Now, for the new games. We "knew" that a ToS sequel might have been possible, but it seems a new Nintendo DS Tales game is being developed. It is going to be titled Tales of Innocence. The screenshots are leagues above what we saw in Tales of the Tempest, and it seems to be very far along in development, since the game has a December 2007 ETA release date. It is being developed by Alfa Systems (which did the Narikiri Dungeon games, as well as Radiant Mythology), and has an Opening sequence by Production I.G., which has most of the Tales cutscenes in the past (a full anime cutscene was likely done due to the debacle that occurred with Tales of the Tempest's lack of a anime opening). The song for this game's opening is KOKIA. Inomata Mutsumi is handling the character design.
We have the voice actors for the two characters currently revealed. Ruka will be voiced by Akiko Kimura, and Iria will be voiced by Sasamoto Youko. Lastly, the field will be fully 3D, and the name of the LMBS for this game is Dimension Stride LMBS, which combines aspects of Abyss's Flex-Range LMBS and ToD (PS2)'s Aerial LMBS. A new piece of info --- this game has been in development since Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology was in development, so that explains why it has a 2007 release date. Also, the nature of the male character is said to be "switched with that of the heroine", suggesting that this isn't your normal RPG hero, which gives a possible tie into the "Innocence" part of the game's title.
And now for the game you've all been waiting for. The ToS sequel is tentatively being called Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Rataosk. It will take place two years after the original game, and includes at least two new characters. You can play with and interact with the cast from the original game (unknown if they can join your party). You can raise monsters in this game (validated by IGN's article), which can be used in battle as "party members". The game will also featured an adapted version Tales of the Abyss's Flex-Range LMBS. It currently has a April/May 2008 ETA release date.
New updates from IGN have revealed that the even though this uses the GCN version's framework, the graphics will be improved, with higher-resolution textures. "Wiimote"-specific controls are also being added, such as being able to move around and "pick" you destination by clicking on parts of the world map.
As always, we will be reporting any new news that gets released. Also, we will be adding the new games (and the new Wii category) to our console list in the next few days. Also, all of the images released will be posted as attachments on this post, until we can add them to our Gallery.
EDIT: Fixed the Alfa Systems typo, added info about when ToI started development, and more info about ToI's battle system and ToD: DC were added, thanks to IGN's article on this news.
EDIT 2: Two more screenshots added. It also seems that the ToS sequel isn't meant to be a "main" game in the Tales series. Think of a game like ToP: Summoner's Lineage. Where it delves more into the story, but doesn't really affect anything. Rumors are also pointing to the ToS characters being NPC's in this game.
The last new screenshot shows off the "point and click" interface with the Wiimote.

Remember the "The Best of Tales" DVD we posted about earlier? Well, it seems a "limited quantity" of pins will be released with the initial run of the DVD.
As with last time, the image of the pin is attached to this post.

Tales Channel formally announced the "The Best of Tales" DVD a few days ago. It contains the opening songs and movies to all of the games except for Tales of the Abyss (likely due to licensing issues), as well as two screensavers (one of the heroes and another of the heroines), and lastly some sort of book (no English text to base what it contains). It has a release date of July 4th, 2007.
A copy of the DVD's contents, as well as a image of the cover are on the next post in this topic.

According to NeoGAF, Namco-Bandai of Japan has registered three new trademarks for the "Tales of" series, which are...

- 2007-016170 Tales of Strife
- 2007-016171 Tales of Vesperia
Remember, these are only trademarks...we might see these names be used, or we might not.

A small announcement on Tales Channel talked about information relating to the Tales series being announced this week was put up last week with their February 15th update. The "news" would be released on February 21st.
It was unknown, however if this was simply another port (like Tales of Destiny 2 on the PSP, or a new next-gen game in the series. Jeux-France has reported that there will be three games released, all for Nintendo. One will be a 2D Tales of Phantasia, one will be a Wii remake of Tales of the Abyss, and the final game will be Tales of (the) Harmony (a name similar to this was registered in Japan, so there is some credibility in this), a sequel to Tales of the Abyss, and takes place 10 minutes after that game's ending.
RPGFan brought to light that the new game was being made in "reaction to strong demand by its fanbase", which would make sense if it was a Tales of the Abyss sequel, since that game was quite popular. And concerning the remake, Japan never did get the US version that included the extra Mystic Artes, so there is some possibility in that being true.
Tales Channel should be updating their site sometime later today (since it is almost the 21st in Japan as of this news post). We will inform you all of the news once it breaks.
UPDATE: The "big" news was, in fact, just Tales of Fandom Vol.2. The URL for the site is here.

Anyone remember the short clip of Sword of Legendia from Nintendo of Japan's Wii promotional video on their official site?
Apparently, a rumor has been spreading from Japan on the 2ch forums that Sword of Legendia is related to the "Tales of" series, and is the first in a "Sword of" series. This was included in a list of other rumors, including games such as Kingdom Hearts, Resident Evil, and various other high-profile series.
Could this be part of the "reenvisioning" of the series hinted at before? If we find any backed-up evidence of this (via Tales Channel, Famitsu, etc.), we will let you know.

According to a translation from the latest Famitsu issue (a popular gaming magazine in Japan), the next Tales game will be for a next-gen system. Whether this is the PlayStation3, Wii, or even the Xbox360 has yet to be determined.
When we find the information, we will let you know. : )

The results for the 3rd "Tales of Popularity contest have been revealed. Surprisingly, Leon from Tales of Destiny came in first, followed by Luke and Jade from Tales of the Abyss. Kratos, from Tales of Symphonia, the winner from the 2nd contest, moved down to 5th place.
I am hoping to have a proper page showing all of the results on the site soon, but for now, please check that link for the list of winners.
