What are the goals for the site in 2008?
This is a special section of the website, where we list our planned goals for Symphonic Heaven in 2008. This list is nowhere near final, so we might add or remove goals at any time during the year, depending on the circumstances. Completed goals will be stroked out, so you can look at what has already been accomplished during the year. Also note that these goals are listed in no specific order.
1. Finish the "tagging" conversions on the remaining consoles.
2. Create a quick "introduction to the Tales series" page and create a link on the main page, for visitors who are interested in the series but do not have much prior knowledge. This will briefly explain the origins of the series, as well as series staples (skits, hi-ougi/Mystic Artes, etc.).
3. Once content is created (after the tagging conversions), create a Latest Features section on the main page with the three latest updates. This will replace the current Latest Updates section at the bottom of the navigation.
4. Perform various major updates to the mySymphonic program. This includes having a "wishlist/collection" section, the return of the Achievements and the joined Clubs/Fanlistings/etc. This also includes the rebirth of the blogging aspect, which likely will be powered directly by our CMS (with people granted access to specific sections pertaining to their blog in the backend).
5. Launch a Merchandise section, which will list the various Tales merchandise found in various parts of the world (delving into items easily found or very rare), with links to buy them from various retailers if applicable.
6. Implement a custom Google search via AdSense, to bring in revenue for site contests --- text ads are up in the air at the moment (they will not be in a place that is annoying the for the user). A PayPal donation link will also be added in conjunction with the AdSense inclusions.
7. Relaunch the Link Directory "Sybak", via our CMS. This will include some custom coding to allow users to input links, so this is on the backburner for the time being.
8. Reskin the Oekaki to match the current site layout (had to default'D it due to code changes). The Gallery and Topsite might also be updated slightly. Once MyBB 1.4 launches, that will be default'D, due to code changes as well (plus plugins might need to be removed, etc.), and updated with a new skin.
9. Concentrate on finishing the Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology screencapping project, which is the backbone for the content on the website. Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Legendia, and Tales of Symphonia (GCN) will be the next up, since I have strategy guides to gleam data from.
10. Promote the site through various means, and recruit new staff members.
11. Relaunch the Videos section, which will likely use a custom MySQL database to save the data and process it for use on the main website.
