At the end of the game, wouldn't purchasing bonus exp acutally be, in a way, a bad thing?
Why do I say this? Simple, because personally, I like to wait until I get the better titles before I start cranking up my party's levels. If you gain a bunch of levels early in the game with generic titles, then you have essentially wasted levels. Then again, if there is no cap on levels, then it's a moot point.
Which brings up another question, my friend claims he has gone past level 99. Is there a cap on levels?
I can confirm going over level 99. I think there is a cap, but I don't know when it's capped.
I swore I remember Symphonia having the ability to carry over Titles in the Grade Shop...

IIRC, it's 255 for all of the normal Tales games, save Phantasia, which I recall going to 999. :o
Wow! Both those numbers are crazy amounts! Even if you've got 10X EXP, you would have to play for a year straight!
Well maybe that's an exageration...
But anyways, you could, in theory (In Symphonia), go through the game getting the good bonus titles, start over and carry them over and then go through the game with Lloyd as a berserker (very high if not the highest ATT bonus).
I know you can at least get to 100 because you recieve titles for your characters once they go to 100. Lloyd's title for getting to lv 100, I think, is "Holy Sword."
I've maxed up most of my characters because I like them to be strong. Lloyd is 100 (just got him there yesterday) Zelos is 98, Colette is about 97, Regal is 99, Genis is about 98 I think, Raine is 100, and I've got Sheena at about ?? 97, I think? Dun no.
But anyway, yes your characters can go to 100, and I think even stronger.

Ya, I had Lloyd at 144 once...
But ya, once you get to about 100, most of the chars have close to if not maxed HP and TP, so it's just the other stats left to lvl up.
All in all, there isn't really much point in lvling much higher than 100, unless you are just bad at the game or are playing through on mania or hard.
I went for the 10x EXP in my fifth and last (so far) play through. I inherited titles as well. No problem.
I reached about lv. 120 I think. And even bosses were very easy, even on Mania. So I started doing solo battles. That helped making it more difficult. XD
I was doing quite well with Kratos against Mithos until he used Indignation Judgement. :^.^:
For some reason, I got everyone's lv. 100 title except Genis'. I wonder why...
