Full Version: Gald hard to come by?

Is it just me, or do you have to spend a whole lot of time fighting just to earn enough gald to buy everything you need/want? Equipping the sephira, an item that increases the gald earned through battles by 50%, helps a bit, particularly after boss battles.

Also, it almost seems the programmers used a duct tape solution to this problem by including at least one or two chests in each dungeon which give you a considerable chunk of change. It's as if they knew battles didn't yield enough gald, and decided to make you dungeon crawl for money.

On the other hand, I'm one of those obsessive compulsive people that likes to overstock on food, items, and if I can't have the optimum weapons and armor, then it drives me crazy.
Yeah, I noticed that too.

And there isn't a monster like in ToS that you can whore Gald from (the Dragon in Gnome's dungeon). I think some of the titles help with Gald, IIRC. Or at least drop the shop prices.
Speaking of shop prices, I noticed prices fluctuate depending on location. The same goes for selling.

I was wondering if the titles had any practical purposes, like in ToS they affect growth rates. That's obviously not it, because the capacity cores fulfil that role. I suppose I could experiment with what few titles I have and see if that helps. Thanks.
The prices fluctuate due to a "Town Link" system Abyss has. Basically, the prices change depending on what side quests you do, etc.

And most of the titles have "hidden" bonuses, although the game never states what they are. No Level Up bonuses, though.
Hidden Bonuses? O RLY? Never knew that, and I've already been through the game 3 times. xP

You don't get much gald per battle but search points kinda makes getting Gald Rediculous, especially once you after Clearing Zao Ruins the first time. I had about 100K before I left for Chesadonia. EXP is kinda rediculous as well, in the final dungeon; Eldrant you get about 2000 EXP per fight [not including bonuses and boosts]. About 1/3 way through the game you get 1000. The monsters get a lot stronger but you don't get much more EXP which is a rip I think.
Sadly, I'm one of those players that always seem to be short on cash. The only actual reason I level up is because I'm back out on the field fighting for money. xD;;;;

But it was horrible in Abyss. I hardly had any money. But...like I said, I was out there fighting like crazy until I had enough gald.

And yes, it's true with the titles. I think I read somewhere that there was supposed to be this trick with a title of Anise's and Jade's. If you pick a certain title for each of them, it's supposed to effect the gald in stores, I believe.....it was something like....oh yeah! Here it is!
Quote:You need
Jade's "Emperor's Best Friend" title equipped, discount on buying items
Anise's "Cat Cat Kitty Cat" title equipped, bonus from selling items
Access to Keterburg and Engeve
Completed the Labyrinth Minigame in Keterburg, Tear's Maid Event, and the Warehouse Minigame in Keterburg Bay to boost Keterburg's Town Link Points

Then you need to buy all the utensils from Keterberg's shop and sell them at Engeve.
