This is the one that was erroneously renamed Tales of Destiny 2 in the U.S., correct?

If so, is this game worth about $25-30? That's what it seems to go for on ebay for a complete copy. Is this game as good as others in the series?

Also, I see under versions released, it says it came out for the PSP. Did it come out in the U.S. on PSP, or Japan only?
1) Yep, it was renamed that in the US for the PSX version. I think it was due to Mattel having the rights to Eternia due to their He-Man series or something.

2) I dunno about that. Taylor played Tales of Eternia, so you might want to ask him.

3) It got a Japanese release, as well as a European release (basically, a port of the PSX script/voices). It had a bug in the Volt area, IIRC, though, in the UK version. I don't think every version was affected by it, though.
2) In just my personal opinion, I thought it was a great game. It does have the same charm the other Tales of games have, so I would pick it up if I were you. As for a price, from what I've seen and been told, finding a copy for the PS1 for under 50 USD is a pretty good price, if I were you I'd buy it.
Okay, thanks. I'll probably buy a copy once I have some spare cash. From what it sounds like, this is one of the better ones in the series.
Yeah, just my opinion, but even so. It's a Tales of Game, the earlier ones aren't that easy to find, so if you can get it, you're in good shape.
Eternia is a great game, real good balance and has very few bugs in it. Playing as either Reid of Farah is a lot of fun. Only thing I dislike is the cooking because it's so tedious and costly.

The he-man deal was made into a bigger thing than it had to be, Namco could have gotten around it, there wasn't much of an obsticle to get around. Namco NA thought it would sell more if there was percieved as a sequal.
Problem is, there really is a Tales of Destiny 2. If they thought a sequel would sell so well, then why not release the real Tales of Destiny 2 under it's real name?

Well, they localized Tales of Eternia over here before ToD2 was actually released in Japan...
Just as an FYI, ToE was renamed to ToD II, not ToD2.

So if the *real* PSP version was brought over, they wouldn't have an issue.
I really don't get why Sony didn't bring TOD2 over. TOD and TOD2 are Tales series best two selling games. TOD sold 828K copies, and TOD2 sold 797K copies. Eternia and Phantasia [PSX] sold 600K/500K+ everything else is at 300K at best. I'm wondering exactly WHY Sony didn't bring those missing Tales games over.
