I talked to my friend over the phone, and he told me about his troubles against a three person party in the colisseum. He says that as soon as he kills one of the three, they are revived.
Does anyone know what he's talking about? And if so, any suggestions on how to beat these guys?
IIRC, that should be the Meredy/Garr/Farah cameo battle.
I believe they either cast a reviving spell, or use a Life Bottle to do so. I think it might have been Meredy that casts the reviving spell, so they might want to go after her first.
In any case, it's a hard battle if you aren't properly prepared beforehand.

Well its prety easy just get stronger.
I hate that battle they all do there mystic artes..
shadowrain - I believe he told me he was in the 80s or 90s when he attempted this battle, but I could be wrong. But yeah, that would be the obvious answer.
He managed to beat them. He also claims that during his struggles, Garr managed to kill him in one blow. I remember in Tales of Phantasia, when Cress challenges the dojo, one of the swordsmen can do the same.
In any event, I'm not sure why he didn't think of going after the spell caster first. That's what I do in every battle.
i did it around lvl 70 or 80.. it was kind of hard but you can use items i think.
Yes, I too think that you can use items. And about that revive thing it seems to only be a one-time thing. meaning the first person you kill is revived and that's it. And also I don't think that it was THAT hard...I mean Abbysion, Maxwell and that living armour guy in the book were much harder. Just take out the magic user so she can't use acid rain and such on you to make you weaker, and make sure to cook before the fight(the end of the last one), stock up on items such as lemon gels before hand, have Raine in the party to try and use resurection and probably Zelos or Kratos to help with the healing.

That's the thing. He said he didn't have that much problem with Abbysion or Maxwell, and I believe Abbysion is supposed to be the hardest boss in the game, correct?
He hasn't made it through the book yet though. I never played it myself, but he says there is a time limit. Once time runs out, you die.
True, there is a time limit but it is very long and if you are good at fighting and win battles quickly, it increases the time. But about Abbysion, I guess it may be easier to fight 4-on-1 than 3-on-3, so it all depends on who you use and what they do, such as raine meaninglessly wasting time and TP to cast Ray, only to have the target move out of the way.
