i have this game and the guide book never got around to really playing much of it with school and all, i beat tales of the abyss and loved it with the free run and all, is tales of legendia a fun game? or is it bad compared to tales of the abyss?
I think there both good, but the gaming stragity is much better on abyss,and i like the story better to, but thats just me.
Legendia is more about character interaction than the other games in the series. The music is leagues above most of Sakuraba's recent works, IMO.

It's probably pretty cheap right now, so I'd say pick it up if you see it.

Yeah i already bought it about a year ago XD
got into the game about 5 hours, then i let my friend borrow it he beat it and had like everything lol so i never played it much.

But i will try to start playing it again :]
Personally, when I first played the game, I didn't care for it much. It was a good game to pass the time, but it didn't really effect me. The characters were nice, if you don't count Shirley, the battles were pretty fun until the enemies got insane amounts of health, and it had funny dialogue. But the level designs annoyed me, probably because I didn't know you could skip puzzle booths for awhile, and the levels seem to just go on forever. But, I played the game last summer, when it was hot, I had no air-conditioning. Definitely not the bes time to play it.

But recently, I've been playing Legendia again. And I love it. The characters(except Shirley), the battles(throwing is win), the storyline(except Shirley), and Moses in the game, soo... I've gotten to my third playthrough.

I guess the point of this itsy-bitsy little rant is, that the game is fun, if you know what's coming up. <_<; That and you have to be willing to deal with Shirley.
to make a long story short, its a good game!
I had finally gotten this game recently and I must say, I like it a lot! The characters are pretty cool! And I don't mind Shirley...but...she does sound like she swallowed a few pints of helium.... ^^;;;

But Senel is really cool. He's a little more stern than what I'm used to from the previous Tales games I've played. Lloyd was just the young teen that wanted to protect everyone and he was mostly happy-go-lucky. Luke was a poor confused guy but with the help of his friends he was able to "find himself". And Cless is similar to Senel but a little more loose.

And it's so scary how Will looks just like one of my art professors. I was like..... oO;;;;; But he seems pretty cool. Not as hyper as Raine around her love (ancient artifacts) but he does get up there lolz.

And Norma is pretty cute. I love how crazy she gets. Especially in this part...

Senel Coolidge: What's it feel like when you get new crystal eres?
Norma Beatty: It's like, from deep inside you, there's this kind of whoosh, and then this ahhh, and then it's like, kaboom! And then from there it's sort of wiggly and kinda fluffy.
Senel Coolidge: Okay, I have no idea what you just said.

Now that skit was hilarious.

And the only other I have met so far was Moses. He seems like an interesting character. I have yet to see his dance...well...I just started so I just got back Shirley.

I think the music is generally awesome. I love "tori wa naki, boku wa utau" (aka "The Bird Chirps, I sing" ). Of course it's done by Kanon so I love it already xD;

Trying to understand the eres was a little weird in the beginning but I think I got the hang of it now. It's very different from the other Tales games but it just makes it all the more interesting.

Ummmm...yeah so that's all I got for now...since as I said I just started playing. So I'll put up more of a review when I get through more of the game. ^-^

(notice my small dedication to Legendia? *points to icon and sig set* ^^ )
I'm starting to get into this game. I'm currently on chapter 2.

So far, the game seems more light hearted than other games in the series, but maybe that's because I'm not far enough along to get to the more dramatic, darker parts. However, I actually prefer lighter, kids stuff. Yeah, I'm weird.

The aspect I don't like is learning spells, or in this game, crystal eres. Having to gather all the crystal eres from specific creatures gets to be a real nuisance. It seems like the ones you need are the ones the monster never drops. Go figure. The manual alludes to the drop rate going up if you defeat the enemy faster, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

The characters are pretty darn good. Chloe and especially Norma crack me up. Senel isn't that bad really, despite what people may think. Will is a bit too preachy, and perhaps is a bit of a Raine knockoff. The biggest surprise so far, has to be the Oresoren. They are definately more entertaining than the Cheagles in Abyss.
I actually love this game almost as much as Abyss. I like the characters a lot. Senel is just awesome! He's so funny around the other characters because he tries to be Mr. Tough Guy and he can't quite pull it off...especially when Norma or Shirley are involved xDDD

Yeah, gathering the eres can be a pain sometimes but I didn't really have a problem because I kept getting lost and never ran away from monsters. Mind you, I was playing this game without a guide of some sort. That was an interesting experience. xD;

And with the Oresoren...I was as disturbed with them as I was with the Cheagles...but the Oresoren have their own dance which the Cheagles didn't....so that actually gives them a point above them. xDDD Even though their little dance did kinda' weird me out lolz
The Oresoren dance is great.

The only thing that weirds me out is the subtle hints at incest. Shirley gets jealous when Norma hits on Senel, and even blushes when Norma confronts her on the subject. That's a bit too much for me.
